The NCAA Division I baseball committee approved the testing of instant replay at the 2012 College World Series at TD Ameritrade Park. The Playing Rules Oversight Panel still has to approve the measure.
The list of reviewable plays is limited to deciding if an apparent home run is fair or foul, deciding whether the ball left the playing field for a home run or ground-rule double and spectator interference plays (only on home runs).
The instant replay process will operate under the fundamental assumption that the ruling on the field is correct. The only way a call can be changed is if there is indisputable video evidence to remove all doubt that a ruling was incorrect. Otherwise, the original call will stand.
