ALRIGHT !!!! Let’s see how the season plays out. Great game. Well coached game DOC !!!!
not really, Nebraska was fouling at the end with the lead
Well, we win by 6 against what is called the 10th best team in a 12 team conference, when one of our players shoots 6 of 7 from 3 point land ( a shot his coach has preached against for 6 years!!!!!!) Now don’t get me wrong, I am elated for the victory, and especially for the guys who have been around for awhile, but with the mind set at Nebraska, it wouldn’t suprise me if the Iowa coach asked his kids to throw the game at half time to guarantee we would have Doc around for another year. If that happens, it means that Gesell goes 8 – 0 against the Huskers in regular season and clearly cleans their plow in the tourney (B1G) if we would match up there. We are out coached and clearly out recruited. Anyone who doesn’t believe that needs to read the excellent articles by Barfknecht and Shatel in the last week. We have an abysmally poor head coach (he may know his X’s and O’s, but he recruits worse that a Class C-2 Nebraska HS coach) and our program will continue its downward spiral for at least four more years if Doc doesn’t go at the end of this season!
BTW, why is it that Doc never has a presser after a win where we fire up a bunch of three’s, but he is out there defending our holding the ball til we lose possesion without a shot! If he would just let his kids play and screw his stupid defense and hold the ball until 10 seconds left on the shot clock philosophy, maybe we could win a quality game one time. Despite Doc’s asinine recruiting, he still has some kids with heart. Let ‘em play Doc, let ‘em play. We can do any worse with street ball than we are doing following your guidelines!!!!
No blogging on the NU/NU game, which is too bad. Best I’ve seen a Doc Sadler team play, that is in the second half. The truly seemed to have some clue as to what they were doing with the ball, and they weren’t intimidated from taking an open shot, no matter where they were in the shot clock. I only caught the last part of the first half, and the old style of O and D were bitterly obvious. Letting the kids play in the second half may not have won the game, but I can’t help but believe there wasn’t 12 guys dressed in Red who didn’t believe they would have won by more than 10 if they had played the same style for 40 minutes. Plus, it was fun to watch!!!!
