Nebraska appeared to be in a decent position with California cornerback Devian Shelton — well, until USC offered him a scholarship this week.
Shelton has committed to USC and reportedly has now signed a letter of intent, according to multiple recruiting services (247Sports’ Scott Schrader tweeted about Shelton’s Wednesday decision).
Shelton, a former Oregon State commit, took an official visit to Nebraska last month. He was also considering Washington. He’s a 6-foot-2, 185-pounder from Inglewood, Calif., rated as the nation’s No. 22 cornerback by 247Sports.
