Scouting Sioux Falls: One of the Cougars’ two losses was Jan. 15 to UNO, 74-61 in Sioux Falls. … USF is transitioning from NAIA to NCAA Division II. … Sioux Falls is 11-1 against Division II teams, with the only loss at St. Cloud State, 52-51. One of the Cougars’ wins was against Augustana, 65-59. … Sioux Falls makes an average of 8.8 3-pointers per game. … Vanessa Johnson was 6 for 10 from 3-point range in the loss to UNO. The rest of the Cougars were a combined 4 for 25 from long distance. … The Cougars led UNO 52-51 before the Mavs pulled away with a 14-3 run.

Scouting UNO: Heather Pohl, a 6-foot senior from Millard West, needs 13 points to become the 23rd UNO player to record 1,000 career points. Cayla Hargrove (2009) was the most recent addition. … Pohl moved into third place at UNO in career 3-pointers while making six on Monday and, with 157, needs 12 to pass Karen Thies (2004-07) for second place. … Taijhe Kelly, a 6-foot-4 freshman, tied a career high with four blocked shots in Monday’s loss to Western Illinois. She has 33 blocks on the season, despite playing an average of 11.8 minutes per game, and is within four of the school’s single-season top 10. Kelly, also within 20 of UNO’s career top 10 in blocks, is averaging 3.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks.
