UNO has added seven players to its women’s soccer program, its first recruiting class since moving to Division I. The list of seven freshmen includes four in-state players.

The group includes Hannah Wampler and Morgan Westenburg, both of Lincoln Southeast and walk-ons Jean Snyder of Elkhorn South and Alex Wichman of Omaha Burke.

Out-of state recruits are Haley Shelton of Kansas City, Mo. (Park Hill South), Layla Ashouri of Parker, Colo., and Katlyn Nimtz of Allen, Texas.

At Southeast last year, Wampler had 19 goals and 10 assists, while Westenburg was named team MVP as a center back. They combined to help Southeast to a 16-3 record and a state runner-up finish.
