Nebraska graduate assistant Vince Marrow has plenty of solid connections in Ohio; they helped NU land LeRoy Alexander from Toledo (Whitmer) in the 2012 recruiting class and a commit from Youngstown (Cardinal Mooney) safety Marcus McWilson for 2013.
Those connections have the Huskers in the running for Akron (Firestone) wide receiver Kevin Gladney, who lists Nebraska and Iowa as his top two schools. He’ll visit Lincoln Thursday during spring break.
“I really want to see the place for myself,” Gladney told 247Sports of Nebraska. “They said me being there I can start as a freshman. They have a lot of seniors and juniors coming out and I’d be a good fit there.”
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Gladney caught 48 passes for 748 yards and 12 touchdowns last year. A three-star prospect, Gladney’s been offered by Vanderbilt, Purdue, Michigan State and Cincinnati have offered, too, among other schools.
