It’s a Big Ten battle for three-star Erie (Pa.) Cathedral athlete Delton Williams, who’s narrowed down his choices to Nebraska and Michigan State.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pounder projects as a running back/safety/kick returner in college. But Williams touted the Huskers’ defense.
“Yeah, Blackshirts man, I love the Blackshirts,” he told Huskers Illustrated. “That’s a college tradition right there. Being a part of that really helps Nebraska a lot. That’s why they are one of my top schools. Watching Husker football you see that safety coming up and making big hits. I see myself fitting in.”
MSU, meanwhile, has Cathedral quarterback Damion Terry already committed for the 2013 class.Williams has already visited Michigan State. He’d like to visit Nebraska.
Nebraska has defensive line coach Rick Kaczenski — who graduated from Cathedral — handling Williams’ recruitment.
