How do Husker fans rank their favorite football moments and traditions? The World-Herald set out to find the answer with a 64-entry bracket that will be voted on by our readers. With two rounds of voting each week, fans have a chance to have their voices heard about what most defines NU football.
The second round wrapped up Sunday with 32,054 votes cast — and a few close races. “Tommie Frazier breaking Florida tackles,” a No. 3 seed in the Osborne Region, was the top vote-getter with 1,796.
No lower seeds advanced to the third round, but two matchups were separated by less than 100 votes. No. 4 “Schlesinger up the middle in Miami” edged No. 5 “30-year streaks” 1,001-979 and No. 3 “Hail Varsity” beat No. 6 “Man, woman and child” 1,016-927.
Third-round balloting runs Monday through Wednesday at 5 p.m. on Omaha.com/BigRedBracket and Facebook.com/BigRedToday.
