Recruiting: NU commit transferring to Lincoln Southwest
Sam McKewon Omaha World-Herald

Lincoln Southwest picked up a huge transfer for the 2012 football season who also happens to be a Nebraska commit: Defensive end Christian Lacouture. Huskers Illustrated, the World-Herald’s recruiting partner, confirmed the news with Silver Hawks coach Mark King.

“It’s a pretty easy transition if the kid works hard,” King told HI. “If he comes in and doesn’t say a whole lot and goes to work, than the kids will accept him pretty quickly. As a coach that’s all you can ask for and Christian seems to be the type of kid that will do that.”

Lacouture’s mom found a job in Lincoln and Lacouture has developed a good relationship with LSW linebacker Josh Banderas. He’s a 6-foot-5, 265-pounder, from College Station, Texas, who picked NU over Michigan, LSU and Texas A&M.

Shortly after the news broke, Lacouture tweeted at Banderas: “lets go get that ring!! #hawks #huskers #statechamps”

HI will have more tonight, so stay tuned.
