Rex gets a nod from SI

Nebraska running back Rex Burkhead landed on the second team of Sports Illustrated’s preseason All-American squads.

Burkhead was one of four running backs tabbed as a preseason All-American and one of two Big Ten backs selected, joining Wisconsin’s Montee Ball.

Burkhead carried 284 times for 1,357 yards last season, the second-highest carry total in school history, while tallying the seventh-highest rushing total in NU history.
