The Big Ten Network crew witnessed Nebraska’s last two night practices this week, occasionally tweeting out observations of players from the workout. Writer Tom Dienhart compiled his thoughts on the whole roster in a concise article worth reading.
Perhaps most notable: NU installed a 3-4 defensive package Thursday. The Huskers used it some last year — although to me it looked more like Will Muschamp’s 3-4, where an end walks down to the line of scrimmage and stands up as a hybrid, rather than a true 3-4 look — and has the versatility in the back seven to build upon it this year.
It’s good, intriguing stuff, and Husker readers, listeners and viewers should know: We’re asking for the same access. Hopefully we get it and can pass on our own observations. If we don’t, we’ll still produce great coverage, of course.
