The running back hex at Iowa continues.

In the first half against Northern Iowa, the Hawkeyes lost two more runners to injury. Damon Bullock apparently suffered a concussion, and true freshman backup Greg Garmon injured his right elbow on his third carry.

That means walk-on fullback Mark Wiesman, who transferred from Air Force, is Iowa’s top rushing threat.

Minnesota suvived an injury to senior quarterback MarQueis Gray to hold off Western Michigan 28-23. Sophomore Max Shortell replace Gray, who hurt his left leg, and threw three touchdown passes.
