Game Replay: Nebraska 73, Idaho State 7
Dirk Chatelain Omaha World-Herald

Noticed: Sean Fisher. The senior from Millard North played early and looked good. You’ll see him even more next week against Wisconsin’s power offense.

Peculiar play: Idaho State’s fake punt on fourth-and-14 from its own 36. It’s one thing to call it. But snapping it to up back Tanner Davis and expecting him to run for the first? Not gonna happen. The play lost 1 yard.

Bad call: Scheduling this game. I don’t care how much money it cost to get a better team, Nebraska should’ve spent it. Idaho State may be the worst team NU has ever faced at home. In other words, Kirk Ferentz will be calling the Bengals asking about open dates.

Bad call II: Putting Taylor Martinez back in the game after a Ron Kellogg interception early in the second quarter. Bo Pelini was right to get Kellogg in early. But once Martinez leaves, don’t put him back in. When you’re leading 42-0 in the second quarter, nothing good can happen.

Rave review: Eric Martin. The senior defensive end/linebacker harassed Idaho State much of the first half. He finished with 2 ½ sacks. It was just Idaho State, but Martin is developing into one heck of a pass rusher.
