Nebraska already had the offensive and defensive touchdowns Saturday, so what was missing? How about a special teams score.
The Huskers started the second-half scoring with an 81-yard punt return by Ameer Abdullah. It bumped the lead to 52-0 less than three minutes into the third quarter.
For Abdullah, who already had a rushing touchdown in the first half, it was the sophomore I-back’s team-leading seventh TD of the season.
Also in the third quarter:
>> Justin Blatchford blocked the next Idaho State punt after the Abdullah return.
>> Ron Kellogg III fired his first career touchdown pass with 8:52 left in the third quarter. The 5-yard throw to Steven Osborne gave the Huskers a 59-0 lead.
>> Braylon Heard took off on a 27-yard TD run for the 66-0 advantage.
