Prep Notables

Football

Jake Fowler, Adams Central: Ran for 155 yards and four TDs in a 47-0 win at previously undefeated Gibbon.

Joel Grafel, Hastings St. Cecilia: Ran for 190 yards and five TDs in a 67-0 win at Superior.

Jordan Slough, Doniphan-Trumbull: Picked up 267 yards and five TDs rushing in a 45-6 win over previously undefeated Thayer Central.

Luke Glenn, Shelton: His 18 carries netted six touchdowns and 309 yards in a 64-12 win over Axtell.

Eli Van Metre, Gibbon: Ran for 261 yards and five TDs against Ainsworth for his third 200-yard game of the season.

Jordan Wetovick, Eustis-Farnam: Scored four touchdowns in the final quarter — he ran and passed for seven in the game — while generating 339 total yards in a 46-30 comeback win at Loomis.

Luke Johnson, Potter-Dix: Sat out the second half after completing 11 of 19 passes for 312 yards and six TDs for a 53-0 halftime lead over Banner County. All but one of his TD passes came on the first play of drives.

Cameron Benes, Wahoo Neumann: In a win over Logan View, he completed 10 of 11 passes for 206 yards and two TDs and ran for 73 yards.

Jonathan Withrow, Kimball: Ran back kickoffs 90 and 78 yards for touchdowns in a 33-24 win over Mitchell.

Devon Marteney and Scott Borcher, Pawnee City: In a 62-30 win over Friend, Marteney ran for 238 yards and four touchdowns and Borcher had 22 tackles.

Jake Batenhorst, Elkhorn Mount Michael: Threw for 253 yards and three touchdowns in a shutout of Nebraska City.

Joel Grafel, Hastings St. Cecilia: Ran for 206 yards and five TDs, with five solo tackles, in a 67-0 win over Superior.

Cord Huettner, Falls City: Ran for six touchdowns and a school-record 382 yards and threw for one in a 54-7 win over Lincoln Lutheran.

Michael Hedlund, O’Neill: Produced six TDs against Madison.

Jackson Sudbeck and Davis Wieseler, Wynot: In a 36-30 win over Osmond, Sudbeck threw for 207 yards and five TDs — four to Wieseler — while running for 92 yards.

Jake Findley, Giltner: Threw nine TD passes, seven in the first quarter, of a 78-18 win over Grand Island Heartland Lutheran. Backup Jared Hastings threw two more, both in the second quarter.

Ryan Batenhorst, Fremont Bergan: Threw for 375 yards and four TDs against Tekamah-Herman.

Josh Schollmeyer, Arlington: Ran for 214 yards and three TDs on 13 carries against Omaha Concordia.

Jordan Scheil and Scott Howard, Ashland-Greenwood: In a win over Raymond Central, Scheil completed two halfback passes for 126 yards, intercepted a pass and ran for a TD. Howard caught five passes for 150 yards and two TDs.

Josh Hayden, Christian Bingo and KZ Williams, Boys Town: Against Douglas County West, Hayden threw for 281 yards and five TDs. Bingo and Williams each caught two TD passes.

Jaden Boudle and Jordan Kann, Fort Calhoun: Boudle scored three TDs against Wayne. Kann threw for two TDs, ran for two and made a pair of two-point conversions.

Anthony Cloyd, Millard South: Accounted for five touchdowns and 250 yards against Omaha South.

Justin Jarman, Cedar Bluffs: Sophomore scored three TDs and had 222 yards in receptions and rushing in a loss to Howells-Dodge. He also has a 40-yard punting average.

Payton Fluckey, Platteview: Made field goals of 50, 21 and 27 yards and five extra points and rushed for 152 yards on 13 carries with a 71-yard TD on the opening scrimmage play of a 44-3 win over Schuyler.

Andrew Minarick, North Bend: Against Stanton, he ran for 206 yards and two TDs, threw for 145 and had 35 return yards to boost his season average to 343.5 all-purpose yards a game.

Volleyball

Jaelynn Griess, Lincoln North Star: Broke the school’s career kill record during the Millard North Invitational.

Makayla Maxwell, Millard North: Had 15 kills against Bellevue West.

Sydni Lee, Omaha Central: Had 17 kills in a win over Omaha Mercy.

Rochelle Wendland, Arapahoe: Had 16 kills against Hitchcock County.

Maddy Bruder, Norris: Had 18 kills in a win over Elkhorn.

Morgan Nikkila and Olivia Thomas, Hastings St. Cecilia: Combined for 90 kills in five recent victories.

Kelly Hunter, Papillion-La Vista South: She had 28 assists in a two-set sweep of Millard North at the Allison Weston Invitational.

Kourteney Zadina, Seward: Had 16 kills, 19 digs against Elkhorn South.

Dani Root, Waverly: Had 15 kills in a win over Aurora.

Grace Ecklund, Overton: Had 11 kills in a victory over Chase County.

Kalynn Dalhke, Hampton: Had 26 kills in a sweep of Kenesaw.

Erin Gross, Tekamah-Herman: Had 28 kills in a loss to Stanton.

Girls golf

Tori Peers, Grand Island: Shot 77 to win the Lincoln East Invitational by two strokes.
