Soccer: UNO women search for first win against Summit teams

The UNO women’s soccer team will host Fort Wayne and Oakland this weekend at UNO Soccer Field, the first Summit League games for the Mavericks.

Omaha (0-10) plays Fort Wayne (4-5) at 4 p.m. Friday. At noon Sunday, the Mavericks host defending Summit League tournament champion Oakland (3-3-3).

Sam Pavlika has played every minute in goal for Fort Wayne and has a 1.19 goals against average and has made 42 saves. She’s won back-to-back Summit League defensive player of the week awards.

Oakland’s Shannon Coley has a 2-2-2 record in net and a 1.08 goals against average with 32 saves.

Freshman goalkeeper Meaghan Clark has come up big for the Mavs with 60 saves, which ranks first in the Summit League and is tied for 27th nationally. Clark also has stopped both penalty kicks she has faced.
