Noticed: Stanley Jean-Baptiste earned the start at cornerback opposite Josh Mitchell. Jean-Baptiste, as you remember, made a key interception in last year’s win over Ohio State.
Peculiar play: The Huskers busted out a little trickery in the red zone, splitting Taylor Martinez out wide and putting Rex Burkhead under center. Twice he pitched to Ameer Abdullah for touchdowns in the first half.
Questionable call: Daimion Stafford intercepted a third-down pass from Braxton Miller in the first quarter — or at least it seemed that way. But officials reviewed the play and called it incomplete.
Questionable call II: The incomplete ruling actually worked out better for Nebraska because Ohio State gambled on the ensuing fourth down. Urban Meyer called a fake punt and came up a yard short. The Huskers turned it into a field goal.
Rave review: Eric Martin wreaked havoc on the Buckeye backfield in the first quarter, tallying two sacks. His energy off the edge continues to be a bright spot for the defense.
