Polls won’t favor Big Ten
Lee Barfknecht Omaha World-Herald

If you are a Big Ten football fan, I suggest you stay away from the Top 25 polls that come out later today.

It’s not far-fetched to project that no league team will be ranked in the USA Today coaches poll. Nebraska was 20th and Northwestern was 22nd, but both suffered big losses Saturday.

It’s unlikely that Penn State, Michigan or Michigan State — all with two losses each — would crack the Top 25 now.

In the Associated Press poll, which allows voters to consider sanction-ridden Ohio State, the Buckeyes likely will move up from No. 12 into the Top 10.

Not a pretty day for the Big Ten if the only ranked team is one ineligible to play in the postseason.
