Game of the week: Harlan Community at Atlantic football
>> When: 7:30 p.m. Friday
>> Records: Harlan 6-1, 3-1; Atlantic 5-2, 2-2
>> Ratings: Harlan 5th state (Class 3-A), 4th WI (4-A/3-A)
>> Overview: Atlantic needs a win, or faces long odds of reaching the playoffs. The ball will be in the air often, as both teams favor the pass.

SCHEDULE
>> Volleyball: Treynor (28-5) vs. Underwood (21-8) in Western Iowa Conference tournament final, 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Tri-Center. Third-seeded Underwood advanced with a four-set win against Tri-Center while top-seeded Treynor sidestepped Missouri Valley in four sets.
>> Cross country: Hawkeye Ten Conference meet at Shenandoah, 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Defending champions are the Glenwood boys and Shenandoah/Essex girls.
>> Football: Panorama (5-2, 3-1) at Tri-Center (5-2, 3-1), 7 p.m. Friday. The winner likely be the No. 2 seed in Class 1-A, District 8 and receive a first-round home game.

>> Mitchell Lensch, Glidden-Ralston: Rolled up 314 rushing yards on 23 carries with six touchdowns and caught two passes for 46 yards and another score in a 76-22 Eight-Man win against Coon Rapids-Bayard.
>> Kenneth Clary, Griswold: Rushed 22 times for 256 yards and four TDs in a 47-7 win over Riverside.
>> Zach Brewer, Nodaway Valley: Rushed 24 times for 168 yards and two scores and also made eight tackles in a 36-35 double-OT win against Treynor.
>> Loren Williams, Tri-Center: The state wrestling champion ran for 200 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries in a 61-6 win against Missouri Valley.
>> Trevor Frain, Creston/Orient-Macksburg: Made a team-high 17 tackles as the Panthers held Glenwood to 193 yards in a win.
>> Nate Johnston, Carroll: Ran 24 times for 120 yards and a touchdown as the Tigers narrowly missed an upset of Sioux City Heelan, losing 17-14.
>> Sam Wegner, IKM-Manning: The sophomore carried 13 times for 184 yards and three touchdowns, and caught two passes for 38 yards and another score in a 42-0 win at Maple Valley-Anthon-Oto.
>> Austin Fink, A-H-S-T: Made a team-high 11 tackles, including nine solos, as the Vikings held East Mills to 111 yards in a 24-10 victory.
>> Trevor McKee, CAM: Rushed four times for 124 yards and two touchdown, and completed a 79-yard touchdown pass in a 60-16 Eight-Man win against Stanton.
>> Mason Peterson and Dustyn Rauch, Lenox: In a 34-20 Eight-Man win against Corning, Peterson completed 6 of 12 passes for 114 yards and two TDs, rushed 17 times for 111 yards and a score and made 13 tackles. Rauch rushed for 126 yards and a score on 17 carries and made 19 tackles.
VOLLEYBALL
>> Grace Hanno, Sioux City Heelan: In the western Iowa No. 1 Crusaders’ 21-14, 20-22, 15-10 pool-play win against No. 2 Harlan at the Western Christian Invite, the freshman led her team in kills (7) and aces (3). Western Christian went 6-0 to win the tournament, while Harlan, Heelan, Unity Christian and MOC-Floyd Valley all finished 4-2.
>> Amanda Focht and Jill Vanderhoof, Villisca: In a five-set win against Ridge View, Vanderhoof had 22 kills and hit .269. Focht had 20 kills and hit .366.
>> Molly Goltz, Nishnabotna: In a five-set win against Fremont-Mills, she had 18 kills with .340 efficiency and 17 digs.
>> Serena Parker, Shenandoah: Had 14 kills while hitting .444 with six blocks and three aces in a five-set win against Creston.
CROSS COUNTRY
>> Tiffany Shepherd, Corning: Won the Pride of Iowa Conference meet and led the Red Raiders to the team title for the second straight year.
>> Sean Skillern, Shenandoah/Essex: Finished second in the Atlantic Invitational and led the Mustangs to the team title over runner-up Dallas Center-Grimes.
>> Megan Maaske, Woodbine: Won the girls portion of the OA-BCIG Invitational in 15:51, 13 seconds faster than runner-up Bailey Hare of OA-BCIG.
