Mike Peltz from Alliance, Neb., has joined the Nebraska men’s basketball team as a walk-on and will be immediately eligible.

The 6-foot-2, 199-pound guard spent the past two seasons at Western Nebraska Community College in Scottsbluff. Last season, the two-year captain averaged 7.5 points, 6.2 assists, 4.9 rebounds and 1.5 steals a game for 26-7 WNCC.

“I’ve known Mike for a long time, and tried to recruit him to Colorado State,” NU coach Tim Miles said. “He is a very smart player who will fit into our system.”
