Nebraska this weekend lost a commit for its 2013 class — one that appeared most solid heading into the winter.
Lincoln Southwest defensive end Christian LaCouture — who moved from Texas this fall and intended to enroll at NU in January — will visit LSU for the Tigers’ Nov. 3 game vs. Alabama. The 6-foot-5, 265-pound LaCouture picked Nebraska over LSU and Michigan over the summer.
LaCouture told Big Red Report that he’s “solid” in his decision — made last week — to decommit. Southwest lost its first-round playoff game 28-10 to Omaha North Friday. LaCouture played some tackle and some end in the game.I still think he projects to tackle in college, especially at LSU.
The World-Herald has a call and text out to LaCouture.
So let’s spin the ball forward. NU got a visit from two defensive ends for the Michigan game: Arizona Western College’s Randy Gregory and Lee’s Summit, Mo., four-star recruit Jamone Boyd. The chances of both committing — if not, eventually — aren’t bad. But they may be counted on to have a big, immediate impact on the defensive line.
