In a discussion Tuesday with Nebraska men’s basketball coach Tim Miles about non-conference scheduling, I asked if he would consider playing Creighton twice a season.
“I don’t know,” Miles said. “It has come up around here, though I don’t remember exactly by who.”
Miles said he hasn’t discussed such a move with Creighton coach Greg McDermott.
The schools played twice in the 1986-87 regular season. Nebraska lost at Creighton on Dec. 6, 1986, and won in Lincoln on Jan. 3, 1987.
NU and CU also have met twice in a season two other times when they were paired in first-round NIT games.
In recruiting news, Wednesday is the first day to sign letters of intent. Miles said he expects to sign three players this week, and has “no earth-shattering news.”
Nebraska’s three oral commitments are from 6-foot-1 guard Tai Webster from New Zealand, 6-7 wing Nick Fuller from Sun Prairie, Wis., and 6-5 guard Nate Hawkins from Dallas.
