Had Cody Green stayed at Nebraska, the quarterback might have been going through Senior Day ceremonies Saturday with his former Husker teammates.
He was doing OK for himself, however, in Tulsa, Okla.
Green completed 21 of 34 passes for 252 yards and three touchdowns as Tulsa beat Central Florida 23-21, sending the Golden Hurricane to the Conference USA championship game as winners of the West Division.
Tulsa improved to 9-2 overall and 7-0 in Conference USA in Green’s first season as starting quarterback. The native of Dayton, Texas, left NU after spring practice in 2011, transferred and sat out last season as a redshirt.
Tulsa could still have a rematch with Central Florida in the Conference USA title game. Both the Golden Hurricane and Knights (8-3) came into Saturday’s game with 6-0 league marks.
