Cold Hawked

IOWA CITY – Nebraska will try to clinch a berth to the Big Ten Championship and a tie for the Legends Division title on a bitterly cold, windy day here.

Fans will soon begin to file into Kinnick Stadium. Don’t expect many folks to populate the stands until right before kickoff, as temps hover in the upper 20s while a north wind makes it feel more like it’s 15 degrees.

Wind will unquestionably be a factor; it’ll be hard for either quarterback to throw consistently into it. So field position and running the ball — that is, physicality — will be factors this afternoon.

It will warm up because it’s sunny. But I’d be surprised if the wind died down much.
