Shocking move at Wisconsin?
Lee Barfknecht Omaha World-Herald

Pat Forde of Yahoo Sports is reporting that Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema will become the new football coach at Arkansas.

Late Monday night, reports filtered out that Boise State’s Chris Petersen was in line for the job and could be announced soon.

Bielema has been head coach at Wisconsin for seven years. He was Barry Alvarez’s hand-picked successor, coming onto the staff as defensive coordinator for a year before being promoted.

Six assistant coaches left Wisconsin after last season, so at first blush it would appear unlikely someone on the staff would be promoted to replace Bielema.

Former top assistant Paul Chryst just finished his first year as head coach at Pitt. Former defensive coordinator Dave Doeren just took the head coaching job at North Carolina State after two years at Northern Illinois.
