NCAA soccer: Hoosiers to watch
Bluejays Today Omaha World-Herald

Creighton faces Indiana in the College Cup on Friday. Here are some Hoosiers to watch:

Eriq Zavaleta
Position: Forward
Year: Sophomore
Hometown: Westfield, Ind.
>> One of the best players in the country, Zavaleta ranks third in the NCAA with 18 goals, including seven game-winners. The star sophomore, surprisingly snubbed on the list of 15 Hermann Trophy semifinalists, has four multi-goal games this year and has been held without a goal in only four matches.

Nikita Kotlov
Year: Junior
Hometown: Indianapolis
>> Just call him Mr. Clutch. Kotlov has six goals and one assist in the Hoosiers’ last six games, and all eight of his goals have come in the last 10 matches. Most impressive, Kotlov has seven goals and two assists in seven career NCAA tournament games.

Caleb Konstanski
Year: Senior
Hometown: Bloomington, Ind.
>> The standout center back will be making his 45th consecutive start when Indiana takes on Creighton. Konstanski — a team captain along with goalkeeper Soffner — has 69 career starts since joining the hometown Hoosiers in 2009.

Luis Soffner
Year: Senior
Hometown: St. Louis
>> The 6-foot-4 keeper has allowed 18 goals this season while playing all 2,066:08 minutes for the Hoosiers in net. He earned his 10th shutout of the season last week against North Carolina as Indiana snapped the Tar Heels’ 40-match home win streak.

A.J. Corrado
Year: Junior
Hometown: Zionsville, Ind.
>> When Indiana scores a goal, chances are Corrado helped make it happen. His 12 assists are only two shy of the NCAA lead and are the most by an Indiana player in seven years.
