Nebraska center Andre Almeida is questionable for Sunday’s Big Ten home opener against Wisconsin.
Coach Tim Miles said Thursday that Almeida was “very sore” and remained in a walking boot after straining his right foot and ankle in Wednesday’s loss at Ohio State. The 6-foot-11 senior landed on an opponent’s foot when jumping for a rebound.
Almeida has been slowed throughout his Husker career with knee and ankle problems. His absence gave some playing time to 7-1, 236-pound freshman Sergej Vucetic, who scored his first two career baskets.
