Drew Callahan, North Platte: The Bulldogs won their first GNAC holiday tournament title as he had 15 points and 16 rebounds in a 44-28 win over Kearney.
Jack Shadley, Columbus Lakeview: Made seven 3s and scored 25 points in an 82-55 win over Columbus Scotus.
Brian Husmann, Kearney Catholic: Had 30 points and five steals in an 82-46 win at Amherst.
Kurt Veskrna, David City: Had 31 points and eight rebounds in a 75-61 win over David City Aquinas.
Landon Stouffer, Aquinas: Had 27 points, including five 3s, in the loss to David City.
Nate Fisher, Yutan: Scored 24 points, all in the final three quarters, in a 68-67 win at Fremont Bergan. It was the Chieftains’ first win over Bergan in 22 years.
Michael Mailloux, Pender: Scored 31 points in a 66-53 loss to Boone Central/Newman Grove.
Jayden Zysset, Shelby-Rising City: Collected 25 points and 23 rebounds in a 60-54 overtime win at Cedar Bluffs.
Rylee Reinertson, Gibbon: Made seven 3s and scored 36 points in a 66-22 win over Loomis.
Tyson Howard, Ansley-Litchfield: Had seven 3s in the first half and ended with 27 points in a 52-39 win over Grand Island Heartland Lutheran.
Preston Peters, Bancroft-Rosalie: Had 16 assists in a 70-39 win over Cedar Bluffs.
Cody Corfield, Paxton: Had 30 points in an 81-29 win over Maxwell.
Isaac Frerichs, Freeman: Was 13 of 13 at the line and scored 25 points in a 59-50 win over Johnson County.
Blake Jeffres, Burwell: Had 29 points as the Longhorns beat Ainsworth 69-49.
Jordan Miller, Axtell: Had 26 points, seven rebounds and six steals in a 54-43 win over Harvard.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Lauren Works, Lincoln Southwest: Creighton recruit had 26 points in a 64-58 win over Lincoln Southeast for the Heartland Conference holiday tournament title.
McKenzie Brown, Grand Island Northwest: Scored a school-record 30 points in a 66-46 win over Minden.
Kaylee Jensen, Lindsay Holy Family: Had 34 points in a 62-10 win over Winside.
Ellie Carr, Ainsworth: Had 28 points in a 49-26 win over North Central.
Kourteney Zadina, Seward: Made five of the Jays’ state-record 18 3-pointers while scoring 24 points in a 74-48 win over Bennington.
Mandi Uecker, Norfolk Lutheran Northeast: Her career-best 35 points came in a 42-39 loss to Tekamah-Herman.
Alyssa Frauenfdorfer, Humphrey: With 33 points in an overtime win over Pender, she became the school’s career scoring leader with 1,795.
Bridget Arens, Crofton: Scored her 1,000th career point in a win over O’Neill.
Laurel Krohn, Osmond: Had 15 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists against Wausa.
Alayna Daberkow, Madison: Had back-to-back 22-point games, with 24 total rebounds, against Plainvciew and Pierce.
Rebecca Stewart, Minden: Freshman had 28 points against Central City.
Kaylyn Long, Bayard: Had 14 points in a win over Hay Springs that ended the Tigers’ 25-game losing streak.
Rachel Arehart, Wilcox-Hildreth: Had 20 points and 18 rebounds in a 39-34 win over Northern Valley (Kan.).
WRESTLING
Austin Anderson, Bellevue East: Received Honored as a Metro wrestler of the week after pinning all seven opponents at the Flatwater Fracas.
Preston Lauterbach, Bellevue West: Also was a Metro wrestler of the week by going 5-0 with five pins and getting his 100th career win at the Bellevue East Duals.
