If it weren’t for bad luck, the Nebraska men’s basketball team would have no luck at all.
Senior forward Brandon Ubel, the team’s unquestioned leader, will miss Sunday’s game at Michigan State and is “highly doubtful” for Wednesday’s home game with Purdue after suffering a small fracture in his right elbow.
Ubel was injured late in the loss at Michigan. He was hit while shooting a short shot, and his shooting elbow nearly hyperextended, coach Tim Miles said Friday.
Another member of NU’s regular eight-man playing rotation _ walk-on guard Mike Peltz _ will undergo knee surgery and miss the rest of the season. Peltz has played since the beginning of the season with a partially torn patellar tendon.
