EVENT OF THE WEEK
58th John J. Harris Invitational
>> When: Friday and Saturday. Wrestling action starts at 4 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday. Where: Corning Activity Center
>> Overview: Twenty-two schools are entered, and 19 state-rated wrestlers will be in action. The defending team champion is Creston, which ended Atlantic’s three-year reign last year.

SCHEDULE
>> Boys basketball: Corner Conference tournament semifinals at Sidney, Thursday. Villisca (13-2) vs. East Mills (10-3) at 6:15 p.m., Sidney (12-1) vs. Fremont-Mills (7-5) at 7:45.
>> Girls basketball: Corner Conference tournament finals at East Mills, Friday. Villisca/Nishnabotna winner vs. Fremont-Mills/Stanton winner at 7:45 p.m. Semifinal losers in consolation at 6:15.
>> Boys basketball: Sioux City East (12-0, 8-0) at Sioux City Heelan (9-4, 4-2), 7:30 p.m. Friday. East is fifth in the state in 4-A and second in western Iowa (4-A/3-A). Heelan is fifth in the state in 3-A and third in WI.
>> Boys basketball: Creston (10-2) at Nodaway Valley (13-0), 5 p.m. Saturday. Creston is ninth in the state in 3-A and fourth in WI, while the Wolverines are first in the state in 2-A and first in WI (2-A/1-A).

>> Ricky Williams, Riverside: Had a career-high 37 points to go with 17 rebounds, seven blocks, five assists and three steals in a 71-53 win over Griswold.
>> Britton Barrier, Tri-Center: Collected 29 points, eight steals, seven rebounds and six assists in a 76-49 victory over Missouri Valley.
>> Cody Netusil, Carroll: Had 24 points and five rebounds in an 82-66 Raccoon River Conference win over Perry.
>> Clayton Wilson, Fremont-Mills: Finished with 24 points, 17 rebounds, six assists and four blocks in a 68-52 Corner Conference tournament win over South Page.
>> Nathan Cave, Harlan: The 6-foot-4 junior made 5 of 6 from 3-point range in a 17-point, four-rebound effort as the Cyclones beat Denison-Schleswig 64-46.
>> TJ Sterk, IKM-Manning: Ended with 25 points, 13 rebounds and seven steals in a 71-38 win over Ridge View.
>> Alec Sorensen, Treynor: Had 19 points and four assists as the Cardinals followed Friday’s emotional 57-55 win over Riverside with a 72-69 win over Denison-Schleswig on Saturday.
>> Dalton Franken, Atlantic: Led the Trojans with 22 points and 10 rebounds in a 57-47 win over Red Oak.
>> Alex Welsch, Nodaway Valley: Hit 11 of 14 to finish with 23 points and 11 rebounds in a 60-41 win over Interstate 35.
>> Marcel Dunson, Sioux City East: Scored 21 points as the Black Raiders handed Sioux City North its first loss, 58-56.
>> Josh Westendorf, West Monona: Had 21 points, 18 rebounds, five blocks, four assists and three steals in a 59-32 win over Whiting.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
>> Kayla Lindenmeyer, Bedford: Recorded 20 points, nine steals and four assists in a 61-54 win over Corning.
>> Emily Beerman, CAM: The 5-9 senior finished with 27 points, 19 rebounds and seven blocks in a 54-29 win over Glidden-Ralston.
>> Kaylee Grote, Tri-Center: Made 9 of 12 from the field, including both 3-point attempts, in a 20-point effort as the Trojans beat Missouri Valley 66-31 in Western Iowa Conference play.
>> Molly Goltz, Nishnabotna: Collected 15 points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals in a 60-31 win over Essex.
>> MacKenzie Teut, OA-BCIG: Pulled down 16 rebounds to go with 11 points in a 70-17 Western Valley Conference win over Boyer Valley.
>> Blake Bergren, Red Oak: Made 3 of 4 3-pointers and finished with 19 points and five rebounds in a 58-53 win over Atlantic.
>> Serena Parker, Shenandoah: Finished with 20 points and eight rebounds in a 46-43 Hawkeye Ten Conference win over Denison-Schleswig.
