Scouting UNO: Paige Frauendorfer was the Summit League player of the week for the third time after averaging 20.5 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals as the Mavericks split with North Dakota State and first-place South Dakota State. UNO scored the final 11 points of the game to beat Fort Wayne 60-50 on Jan. 5 in Omaha. Frauendorfer had 23 points and 10 rebounds for UNO. UNO’s 95.5-percent performance from the free throw line in Saturday’s loss to South Dakota State was the best on record for the school in games in which it has attempted at least 20 free throws. Frauendorfer leads the Summit in rebounding (8.5 per game) and is fifth in scoring at 14.0 per game. In league games only, Carolyn Blair-Mobley is 11th in scoring (13.2), fourth in rebounding (7.6), third in offensive rebounds (2.5), 10th in made 3s (1.5 per game), fifth in made free throws (3.5 per game), and sixth in free-throw percentage (.848). Blair-Mobley has made 16 straight free throws, and Frauendorfer has made 15 straight. UNO continues to lead the Summit in overall field goal percentage (.418) while ranking last in the same category in league games (.381).

Scouting Fort Wayne: Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne has made at least one 3-pointer in 425 straight games, the fourth-longest active streak in the country behind Iowa State (566), Sam Houston State (519) and Connecticut (492). The Mastodons average 7.0 3s per game to rank 30th in the country. They made 7 of 23 in their 60-50 loss to UNO on Jan. 5. The Mastodons also are fourth in the country in free throw percentage at .789. Amanda Hyde, who shoots 86.7 percent at the free-throw line (98 of 113), leads the Summit League in scoring and ranks 30th nationally at 18.7 points per game. She scored 20 against UNO. Erin Murphy is averaging 16.0 points in Summit League games, fourth best in the league, but is averaging only 11.8 overall. Haley Seibert is an 88.2 percent (30 of 34) free-throw shooter. The Mastodons are one of four teams in a tie for fifth place in the Summit League at 3-5, one game behind 4-4 UNO. The undersized Mastodons are being outrebounded by 9.0 per game in Summit League play and by 5.2 per game overall. IPFW was No. 295 in through Tuesday. UNO was No. 249.
