GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota hockey team is back home in Grand Forks after being stranded in South Dakota over the weekend because of a blizzard.
The team was traveling back from a series with the University of Nebraska at Omaha that included an outdoor hockey game and had to stop in the northeastern South Dakota city of Sisseton when Interstate 29 was closed.
Assistant Athletic Director Jayson Hajdu says the team left Sisseton about 2:30 p.m. Monday and arrived home about 6 p.m.
