Omaha South’s James Dumes found a national audience Monday when ESPN’s “SportsCenter” highlighted the junior in its popular top 10 segment.
The play, an alley-oop resulting in a one-handed dunk by Dumes, came in the Packers’ 75-71 double-overtime victory against Omaha North on Saturday. The jam earned the No. 1 spot in the countdown of the day’s top plays.
“Could have used him in the NBA slam dunk competition,” ESPN anchor Steve Levy said of Dumes, who went 4 for 11 and had nine points in the win.
