Nebraska annually brings in a big name for its spring football coaches clinic, and it didn’t have to go far to find its featured speaker this time.
It will be Tom Osborne, former NU head coach and athletic director.
Osborne led Nebraska to three national championships and posted a 255-49-3 record over 25 years as Husker head coach. After taking over as athletic director in 2007, he retired on Jan. 1.
Osborne will speak at the Cornhusker Marriott on March 29, the middle day of the three-day clinic that draws large numbers of both in-state coaches and others from around the Midwest. Also set for that day is Iowa Western CC head coach Scott Strohmeier, who led the Reivers to the 2012 NJCAA national championship.
The NU clinic also will include talks from Husker staff and several high school coaches.
Cost is $55 per person and information can be accessed on the football home page at Huskers.com (click the 2013 Coaches Clinic link) or by calling 402-472-3116.
