Friday: North Dakota RH Andrew Thome (1-1, 2.77 ERA) and RH Alex Twenge (2-0, 4.91), vs. UNO RH Matt Tew (0-1, 7.71) and LH Cory Buckley (0-1, 13.50).
Saturday: North Dakota RH Jeff Campbell (1-1, 2.77 ERA) vs. UNO RH Tyler Fox (0-0, 0.00).

Scouting North Dakota (5-3-1): Sophomore Andrew Thome threw North Dakota’s sixth all-time no-hitter in a seven-inning win over Mount Marty on Feb. 18. Thome has five career complete games in which he hasn’t allowed an earned run. He has 15 strikeouts in 13 innings this season. … Sophomore Jeff Campbell pitched his first career shutout last week against St. Cloud State. He also hit .326 last year with 12 homers and 47 RBIs. … Sam Alt is hitting .400 (6 for 15) in five games. … Kris Kwak, who hit .313 last year, leads North Dakota’s regulars with a .355 average and nine RBIs. … North Dakota’s first game against a Division I team was Thursday, a 12-0 loss to St. Louis. … North Dakota, 19-37 last year, is picked to finish sixth in the eight-team Great West Conference. North Dakota will play baseball in the Western Athletic Conference next season.

Scouting UNO (0-4): Brett Bass, a junior from Millard West, leads UNO’s regulars with a .375 average (6 for 16). … Clayton Taylor, a redshirt freshman from Elkhorn Mount Michael, is 2 for 3, and both of his hits are doubles. UNO has just five extra-base hits through four games. … Freshman Tyler Fox of Thornton, Colo., pitched five scoreless innings in his collegiate debut Sunday against Penn State. … Senior Derek Landis of Ralston has pitched 32⁄3 scoreless innings of relief over three appearances. Landis, Dylan Casey, Kyler Brady, Zach Williamsen, Anthony Falcone, Sam Murphy and Mitch Kracl have combined for 12 2⁄3 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. … UNO and North Dakota haven’t met since both were Division II North Central Conference programs in 2008, when the Mavs swept a four-game series in Omaha by a combined score of 38-7.
