CLASS B COMEBACKS
Not one, but two Class B winners Thursday rallied from 18 points behind in their games. At Pershing Center, South Sioux City trailed Ralston 35-17 in the third quarter but won 55-47. Later at the Devaney Center, Scottsbluff trailed Aurora 30-12 at the half but won 59-56.

TOP SCORERS
Elkhorn South put up 80 points in its tournament debut as the Storm blew past York 80-58. The Dukes’ Ty Danielson, while collecting the day’s high of 32 points, broke a 42-year-old Class B tournament record by making 18 free throws (out of 23).

NAIL-BITER
Just one of the 24 opening-round games went to overtime, and it had to be in the last game of the day. Burwell defeated Kenesaw 62-59 to move within one game of its first championship-game appearance since 1961.

ALL-METRO FINAL FOUR
Not since 1984 had the Metro Conference swept the first-round games in Class A. While there were two games between Metro teams, Omaha South beat North Platte and Papillion-La Vista held off Lincoln Southeast for the rare feat.
