MARQUETTE

2013 personnel: Golden Eagles return three of their top four scorers from a team that finished seventh nationally in scoring (2.57 goals per game). Taylor Madigan led Marquette with nine goals and had 22 points, while Maegan Kelly had goals and 13 assists (third in nation) for a team-high 29 points. The Golden Eagles led the nation in shutout percentage (.739), with Amanda Engel notching seven shutouts and Sofie Schunk six. Both goalkeepers return in 2013.

GEORGETOWN

2013 personnel: The high-scoring duo of Daphne Corboz and Kaitlin Brenn anchor an offense that returns players that scored 43 of the team’s 44 goals last season. Corboz finished the season with 44 points, scoring 18 goals and registering eight assists, while Brenn had 10 goals and a team-high 10 assists for 30 points. Emma Newins started 22 of the team’s 23 matches last season as a freshman, finishing with a 0.70 goals-against average and 80 saves.

BUTLER

2013 personnel: Players that scored 22 of the team’s 23 goals return next season, including leading scorer Sophia Maccagnone. The Atlantic 10 rookie of the year and a first-team all-conference pick, Maccagnone scored 11 goals and finished with 24 points. No. 1 goalkeeper Jackie Burton started 15 of the team’s 21 matches, notched seven shutouts and had a 0.69 goals-against average.

VILLANOVA

Victoria Gersch led the team with four goals and had 10 points. No. 2 goalkeeper Jami Kranich is back after playing in eight games last season. She posted four shutouts and had a 0.84 goals-against average.

DePAUL

2013 personnel: Blue Demons lose only one player who contributed points last season. Elise Wyatt (five goals, 11 points) and Ashleigh Goddard (three goals, 10 points) finished 1-2 in scoring last season. Returning goalkeepers Alejandria Godinez and Megan Pyrz compiled an 0.83 goals-against average and recorded eight shutouts in 2012.

SETON HALL

2013 personnel: Pirates lose their leading goal scorer with graduation of Stephanie Soma (five goals, 11 points), but return the bulk of their scoring. Ashley Clarke, Marie Klemme and Kaitlyn Ritter each scored three goals, with Clarke registering a team-high 14 points. Gina Maiorana was in goal for five of the team’s seven victories and returns after posting a 2.21 goals-against average.

PROVIDENCE

2013 personnel: Friars lose two of their top four scorers from last season but do return Catherine Zimmerman and Laura Elia. They combined to score half of Providence’s 22 goals, with Zimmerman leading the team with seven. Goalkeepers Jessica Goudreault and Megan Sweeney shared time, with Goudreault posting a 1.38 goals-against average and recording 56 saves.

ST. JOHN’S

2013 personnel: Red Storm had just one senior in 2012 and return all the players who contributed points. Emily Cubbage led the team in goals (three) and scoring (eight points), while Caitlyn McLaughlin had a team-high four assists in scoring six points. Ellen Conway saw most of the action in goal last season, posting a 1.76 goals-against average in playing in 15 games. Lauren Ferris and Meredith Kenyon also return and will press Conway for playing time.

XAVIER

CREIGHTON

She played every minute of Creighton’s 19 matches and posted a 1.56 goals-against average. Jill Richgels is the top returning scorer (two goals, seven points), while seven other players that contributed points also are back.
