Jared Anderson was named the next boys basketball coach at Omaha North, school Athletic Director Jim Savio said.

Anderson has been an assistant at Omaha Bryan for Tim Cannon, who’s also leaving the Bears to coach Millard North.

A 1999 Bryan graduate who was All-Nebraska second team and All-Metro as a senior, Anderson played for UNO and was a starter on the 2004 Bellevue University team that lost in the NAIA national championship game.

Anderson will take over for Ryan Mlnarik as the Vikings’ coach.
