Recruiting Links: Coaches head to Florida, extend offers

Nebraska had another busy week, with coaches visiting schools — including several in Florida — to get a closer look at some of the top targets and even making offers to some.

1. Virginia athlete excited by NU offer

Quick Hit: Alexandria (Va.) West Potomac’s Demornay Pierson-El recently received a Husker offer. “I have seen them play and their offense is wonderful,” said Pierson-El, a 5-foot-9, 170-pound running back/receiver. “They are a great program athletically and academically. That’s a big football school.”

2. Huskers offer lineman Dalton

Quick Hit: Troy, Ohio, offensive lineman Alex Dalton picked up his latest offer Tuesday from the Huskers. “Coach Rich Kaczenski was here from Nebraska and he said that he was going to get the offensive line coach to come up and see me,” said the 6-foot-4, 280-pound lineman.

3. Florida wide receiver says NU leads the way

Quick Hit: Gainesville, Fla., wide receiver Kenric Young recently was visited by NU offensive coordinator Tim Beck. “He’s talking about how he runs his offense and how they want me to visit and get to know them better,” the 6-foot-2, 180-pound Young said. “Everything he’s been telling me has been great.”

4. QB Darlington gets visit from Beck

Quick Hit: Nebraska offensive coordinator Tim Beck stopped by Apopka (Fla.) High to evaluate quarterback Zack Darlington. “I liked having him give me tips,” Darlington said. “If he became my coach we’d get along well.”

5. Huskers offer Wyoming lineman

Quick Hit: Casper (Wyo.) Natrona County’s Taven Bryan has added offers from Washington, Washington State, Oregon, and most recently Nebraska. “Coach [Pelini] called me up and he offered me,” said Bryan, a 6-foot-5, 250-pound lineman.
