Scouting UNO (18-20): Outfielder Ryan Keele and pitcher Steven Schoonover have been named the Summit League’s player and pitcher of the week, respectively, for their work in a split against Indiana-Purdue-Fort Wayne. Keele hit .625 (10 for 16) with three doubles and seven RBIs, compiling a .625 on-base percentage and .812 slugging percentage. Schoonover, a junior, pitched a six-hit shutout, with all the hits singles. … Alex Mortensen leads the Summit League with a .362 batting average. Keele is second at .357. … Cory Buckley doesn’t have enough plate appearances to qualify for the Summit League lead, but he’s hitting a team-best .405 and does lead the Summit in league games with a .466 average. Keele is second at .462 and Tyler Splichal is third at .392.

Scouting Iowa (17-25): The Hawkeyes have split four games with UNO this season, losing 2 of 3 when the teams played in Wichita, Kan., from March 16 to 18, then winning 3-0 at Werner Park on April 16. … Iowa has lost five of its last six games. The Hawkeyes are 5-13 in the Big Ten and 5-11 at home. … Eric Toole of Council Bluffs Lewis Central leads Iowa with a .329 average and 19 stolen bases. … Taylor Kaufman of Glenwood, Iowa, is 2-3 with a 3.16 ERA, ranking second on the team in ERA, while sharing the team lead with three saves. He’s also hitting .250 with 18 RBIs. … Iowa has hit just two homers.
