Papillion-La Vista junior Kenzo Cotton grabbed the Class A state meet record in the 100-meter dash by running 10.51 in Friday’s heats at Burke Stadium.

Cotton’s personal best is a wind-aided 10.41 at last year’s state meet. That mark is second all-time on The World-Herald chart for electronic timing.

Lincoln Pius X opened the two-day meet by setting school records in the girls and boys 3,200 relays to win Class A titles. The Pius girls are now fifth on the all-time list.
