Nebraska/UCLA gets 11 a.m kick on ABC
Sam McKewon Omaha World-Herald

Nebraska’s Sept. 14 game against UCLA — its third contest of the season — received an 11 a.m. kickoff time from ABC, which will broadcast the game.

That’s a tough a draw for the Bruins, accustomed to Pacific Standard Time, which is two hours earlier. This is, in essence, a 9 a.m. kickoff for UCLA.

The 11 a.m. start continues a run of early kickoffs for NU, which only has one true primetime game — the 7 p.m. opener vs. Wyoming — on the slate thus far. Most of the Huskers’ games against marquee Big Ten opponents fall in November, where the league has an informal rule against playing at night.

Nebraska’s updated 2013 schedule:

Aug. 31: Wyoming, 7 p.m. (BTN)
Sept. 7: Southern Miss, 5 p.m. (BTN)
Sept. 14: UCLA, 11 a.m. (ABC)
Sept. 21: South Dakota State, TBA
Oct. 5: Illinois, 11 a.m.
Oct. 12: at Purdue, TBA
Oct. 26: at Minnesota, TBA
Nov. 2: Northwestern, TBA
Nov. 9: at Michigan, TBA
Nov. 16: Michigan State, TBA
Nov. 23: at Penn State, TBA
Nov. 29: Iowa, 11 a.m. (ABC)
