Nebraska’s alternate uniform for UCLA game includes black jersey
Jon Nyatawa Omaha World-Herald

The Huskers will be wearing black for their Sept. 14 home game against UCLA. Adidas just released the alternate uniform.

It’s a sleek-looking black jersey that has numbers in white — referred to as “stencil” numbers by adidas. There are white pants — a red “N” logo stamped on the front left hip — with a black stripe down the side. The helmet’s a matte white, split in half with a solid black stripe, displaying the traditional red “N” on each side. The face mask is red in front, but fades to black the closer it gets to the helmet.

According to a Nebraska release, here’s what will make the uniforms so special on the field: “Adidas ShockWeb features engineered body mapping, which maximizes compression zones across the chest and sides, in a lightweight knit structure that provides a tight fit with enhanced range of motion.  Integrated CLIMACOOL mesh zones create airflow to keep players cool in every temperature.”

Adidas is referring to the uniforms as a new “Tech Fit” look. Once again, they’ll be unveiled in what adidas has coined as the “unrivaled game” — this year between Nebraska and UCLA (last season, it was NU-Wisconsin).
