From now until the start of fall camp, The World-Herald will be counting down the top 50 players you need to know heading into the 2013 football season.

Nebraska’s not going to abandon the power running game, so that will continue to provide a role for a bruising fullback. And with a bit of uncertainty at tight end, those two-back formations — whether out of shotgun or under center — could be more common.

Janovich fits into that mix. Based on the impact during his true freshman season — most notably in a second-half comeback at home against Wisconsin — and his ability to help NU in the future, the walk-on from Gretna is a candidate to earn a scholarship this fall.

He’s expected to split time with senior C.J. Zimmerer at fullback, and should see time on special teams.
