Husker Camp Countdown: No. 35 Harvey Jackson
Sam McKewon Omaha World-Herald

From now until the start of fall camp, The World-Herald will be counting down the top 50 players you need to know heading into the 2013 football season.

Harvey Jackson | 6-foot-2 | 210 pounds | Jr. | Safety

After waiting two years behind more experienced players at safety, Jackson gets his best shot at cracking the starting lineup for more than the one game he started in 2012. Jackson played in 13 games, finishing with 13 tackles and the occasional burn marks from getting beat deep over the middle.

Jackson has the right size and tackles well enough. Recognition skills are a development point. Still, he held off younger players in spring practice and appears to be at the top of the depth chart heading to August camp.

Jackson may not be on the field for every drive in 2013, but he’ll be a factor in this defense.
