Husker Camp Countdown: No. 26 Stanley Jean-Baptiste
Rich Kaipust Omaha World-Herald

From now until the start of fall camp, The World-Herald will be counting down the top 50 players you need to know heading into the 2013 football season.

Stanley Jean-Baptiste | 6-3 | 220 | Sr. | Cornerback

With all kinds of competition at cornerback, Jean-Baptiste won’t be guaranteed anything next season despite his experience and some past success.

The senior started five Big Ten games last season and played in all 14 contests, leading NU defensive backs with nine pass breakups. Long and physical, he played a role in the Huskers allowing opponents to complete 47.1 percent of their passes in 2012.

Depending on how Ciante Evans splits his time between cornerback and nickel, one of the corner jobs might come down to Jean-Baptiste and Josh Mitchell, a junior who is considered one of the up-and-comers and newfound leaders on the Nebraska defense.
