Rich Kaipust Omaha World-Herald

From now until the start of fall camp, The World-Herald will be counting down the top 50 players you need to know heading into the 2013 football season.

Jeremiah Sirles | 6-foot-6 | 310 pounds | Sr. | Offensive tackle

Sirles burst onto the scene, starting every game as a redshirt freshman in 2010 and has contributed ever since (40 career games, 28 starts).

The native of Lakewood, Colo., again will be an important cog on the line, which can help make things go for an offense stacked with dangerous and experienced skill-position players.

One of Sirles’ strengths and biggest assets is his ability to play either the left or right side, which allowed NU to split time last season at tackle among Sirles, Brent Qvale and Andrew Rodriguez.

Sirles is coming off a junior season in which he was voted second-team All-Big Ten, and he starts next season on the Outland Trophy watch list.
