The Nebraska men’s basketball team took a tour Wednesday of the new Pinnacle Bank Arena in Lincoln to get a look at the progress being made as construction on the $179 million arena continues.

“It looks like it’s going to be really nice,” Husker senior guard Ray Gallegos said.

The media toured the new arena last month (photo showcase), but the players offered some of their own opinions now that they’ve seen it in person.

“It’s a lot bigger than I thought it’d be,” sophomore guard Shavon Shields said. “The student section’s right on the court, which is really cool.”

The Husker women’s team and the NU men will take the court for the first time in a day-night doubleheader on Nov. 8.
