Ernest Suttles reportedly is going to launch his career at the University of Miami after the defensive end never made it to fall camp at Nebraska.

According to a report on CanesInSight.com, Suttles has signed with the Hurricanes and will join the program immediately. The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder will have to sit out this season due to NCAA transfer rules.

Suttles, from Gaither High in Tampa, Fla., originally signed with Nebraska back in February but was dismissed from the team shortly after his role in a June 21 incident involving teammates at a Lincoln house party.

The CanesInSight.com report includes this quote from Gaither High coach Jason Stokes: “What happened up there was really not his character and I know that’s all people are going to see, but I promise you he’s going to get down there and do ‘The U’ proud. He’s not going to get in any trouble or make any headlines.”
