Girls TV rights to IPTV
The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union has selected Iowa Public Television as the television provider for its state tournament events.
The three-year agreement will begin in March of 2014 with the championship games of the girls state basketball tournament. IPTV also will televise the state finals in soccer, softball and volleyball. There are also plans to broadcast seasonal specials that will recap the swimming & diving, cross country and bowling state tournaments in the winter, and the track & field, tennis and golf state championships in the spring.
“We are thrilled to partner with Iowa Public Television,” IGHSAU executive director Mike Dick said. “It was very important to us that every Iowan had the opportunity to watch our state tournaments on television. IPTV provides us with that opportunity.”
